Devised after long days and conversations on the set of Favor, Joe and Katie developed a quickie production to submit to the ABCs of Death contest. The film didn’t gain a lot of traction, but the experience was a fun, fast-paced shoot, and everyone on board had a lot of fun with makeup and special FX. Huge props to Blayne Weaver for allowing a live tarantula to crawl up his body. Joe allowed it, too, but spiders still creep him out.

Why this tale? Well, the idea of the contest was to create a film story that was able to provide scares in a short period of time. For me, I’ve always pretty much despised the creepiness of spiders. Yet I can’t bring myself to splat them dead, not any more. My thinking is that, if I squish one, then he’ll come back and attack me, or send his family after me, or, worse, will find a way to attack me from the inside out. Anyway, that’s how this all started.
