Do not mourn but celebrate

If we met just once, she wouldn’t have known me, and I wouldn’t have known what to say. Sometimes that’s all it takes to believe in someone, to feel like you know them; a close-proximity glimpse.

To a handful of a lucky people, she was family. She gave them a warm embrace to hold them in the night, hugs without prejudice, full of compassion, and jokes to treat every day depression.

But to everyone else, she was a spotlight, a monumental figure, a dreamer, a writer, and a performer.

We do not mourn her loss. We celebrate her lovely life.
