SEVENTY

The stone floated among the waves, occasionally washed below the surface for extended periods when large ships passed by.

One day, the stone washed on shore. Three hundred years later, a boy picked up the stone and threw it across the waves. The stone skipped six times before coming to a stop and floating back out to sea. The stone would remember the rush of that skip for an eternity.
